Your new role
The CAD Profiling Engineer has the responsibility for managing the post-sale function of the profiling department. The purpose of the role is to ensure that works are being planned and nested efficiently to minimise production hours and meet client’s delivery expectations. To ensure that materials are procured to the correct specification, at competitive prices and such as to be available when required. Ensure that plant and equipment is operating efficiently and to a high product quality. Provide technical support to sales, production, and customers. Manage and maintain positive supply chain relationships through technical support and problem solving. Stock Management. Monitor total stock volume weekly to develop an understanding of the optimum stock days in yard by each product. Procure materials as required to meet sales orders. Ensure that incoming orders are received correctly. Liaise with services providers to resolve plant, equipment, and software technical errors. Assist with handling incoming sales enquiries as required

What you'll need to succeed
An AutoCAD qualification. Have the ability to plan the production sequence of jobs based on materials, cutting times and customer’s expectations. Consult with the production supervisor, machine vendors and to resolve technical issues that arise during the manufacture process. Be able to communicate with customers to provide technical solutions to their bespoke requirements. Understand the technical capacities and limitation of the machinery. Maintain effective training and maintenance programmes. Keep the department up to speed with the latest in technology and process enhancements. Assist with preparation of job specific quotes by calculating material consumption and cutting times through the relevant CAD/CAM software for the sales team
