BIM Technician – Mechanical Services – 2+ years experience – full-time office role

CAD/BIM Technician – Mechanical Services Experience Required – North Dublin, Office-based Role

Your New Role
Your new company is a well-established mechanical contracting company based in North Dublin, and they are seeking a CAD / BIM Technician to join their in-office project delivery team.
This role is ideally suited to a technician who understands how mechanical services are installed on site and enjoys working in a coordination and delivery-focused environment. You will play a key role in managing, coordinating, and issuing mechanical drawings and BIM information to support live construction projects. This is a full-time, office-based position.

Key Responsibilities:
Design & Construction Coordination
  • Coordinate mechanical services drawings and BIM models to support on-site installation activities.
  • Work closely with site teams, PM’s and engineers to resolve coordination and constructability issues.
  • Review and manage drawings and models received from consultants and designers.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary coordination and clash resolution.
CAD & BIM Production:
  • Update, manage mechanical drawings using AutoCAD and BIM software (e.g. Revit) for construction issues & as-built purposes.
  • Incorporate site mark-ups, RFIs, and change information into coordinated drawings.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date drawing sets in line with site progress
Drawing Management & BIM Administration
  • Upload, issue, and manage drawings and models via Common Data Environments (CDEs).
  • Maintain drawing registers & revision control.
  • Ensure correct version control and timely issue of information to site teams.
  • Support BIM and document control procedures across projects.
Project & Site Support:
  • Act as a key link between site teams and the design coordination process.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants where required.
  • Assist with preparation of handover, as-built & O&M drawing documentation.
What You Need to Succeed
Essential
  • Qualification or solid practical experience in CAD, BIM, or Building Services Engineering.
  • 2 years experience minimum.
  • Strong AutoCAD & Revit experience.
  • Good understanding of mechanical building services installation (HVAC, pipework, plant rooms).
  • Strong organisational skills with a practical, problem-solving approach.
  • Comfortable working in a busy, office-based team environment supporting multiple projects.
Desirable Experience:
  • Previous experience with a mechanical contractor in Ireland.
  • Experience working on live construction sites or in a site-support role.
  • Familiarity with Common Data Environments such as Procore, BIM 360, or similar.
  • Experience using Navisworks or similar coordination tools.
  • Understanding of Irish construction standards and site practices
