AP Team Lead

Are you an AP specialist who is looking for the next step in your career and looking down the route of management? A client of mine in South Mayo is searching for an AP team lead to come in and navigate a team of five in a busy work environment. The client is known for internal progression and while the role may be fast-paced, the return is a clear progression path and the opportunity to work in a thriving, successful and multinational environment.

Role Responsibilities
Accounts Payable

  • Lead the Team of Specialists and Administrators
  • Liaise with the Finance Transformation Team and other key stakeholders to drive automation and Process Improvement
  • Research, champion and implement new tools and procedures to further streamline the AP process
  • Manage Creditor Reconciliation process
  • Manage supplier relationships from an AP perspective
  • Work cross functionally with various teams to resolve outstanding issues arising through vendor reconciliations
  • Act as point of escalation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and enhance productivity through incentives
  • Ensure cross-training of the team to provide resilience
  • Review and update all current process documentation
  • Liaise with Internal Audit to drive best practice and segregation of duties
  • Complete all EE reviews and performance discussions with direct reports
  • Complete probation reviews as and when required with team members

Skills & Personal Attributes

  • Must have experience in a high-volume environment
  • Minimum of 3 years proven experience leading and managing an Accounts Payable team within a fast-paced organisation
  • Must have strong people skills
  • Strong process and commercial skills
