Part Qualified Accountant required on a temporary 3-6 month contract, based in Galway City

Your new company

An established company based out of Galway City, offering specialised support for coastal and offshore projects. With over two decades of experience, they provide a range of equipment and expertise for marine construction, site investigations, and civil engineering works. The company is known for its tailored solutions and involvement in infrastructure and environmental projects across Ireland and the UK.

Your new role

You will support the Financial Controller in managing the daily responsibilities within the finance department, on a 3-6-month contract. Duties include: processing invoices with accuracy and efficiency, performing regular supplier reconciliations to ensure account accuracy, and conducting bank reconciliations to align internal records with financial institutions. The role also involves supporting the preparation of internal audits by organising and reviewing relevant documentation, as well as assisting with month-end close activities such as journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in a finance or accounting role, demonstrating the ability to work independently and take initiative. Strong communication skills and keen attention to detail are essential. While part-qualified ACCA or ACA candidates are preferred, individuals with solid experience as an accounts assistant will also be considered. Experience within the construction industry is advantageous.
