Procurement Officer (Public) | 11 Months | Hybrid (1–2 days onsite, Cork)

Your new company

Your new company is a regulatory body, responsible for developing and inspecting standards within the healthcare sector. They now require an ICT Procurement Officer to join the team on a temporary basis.

Your new role

The Procurement Officer will assist in planning, executing, and finalising technology and information division related to procurement across the organisation, while complying with all purchasing policies and procedures. They will manage the procurement pipeline, monitor existing contracts, and adhere to procurement spending by category and vendor. The officer will also interview, identify, and qualify potential new vendors or suppliers to secure more cost-effective sources of products and services. They will develop and deliver procurement reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and tender documents. In addition, they will establish and maintain regular communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end-users regarding sourcing activities, process purchase orders and invoices within agreed timelines, and undertake other duties as determined by the relevant manager or director.

What you'll need to succeed

The candidate must have two years of experience in procurement, ideally in IT, excellent documentation skills, high attention to detail, and compliance. They must also have excellent contract management skills, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and strong interpersonal skills. The candidate should possess excellent ICT skills in Microsoft tools, and working knowledge of SharePoint and document management. A degree or diploma qualification, PMP or PRINCE2 project management certification, and knowledge of purchasing regulations for public sector organisations are desirable.
