You will work for a not-for-profit Charitable organisation on-site at their Cork location.
I am seeking an exceptional Financial Controller to join the Senior Management Team on a full-time permanent basis. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for all financial, accounting, compliance, and governance functions, providing expert financial advice to Senior Management, the Board of Directors, and Board Sub-Committees.
You will play a key part in shaping financial strategy, driving performance, and ensuring robust governance across a values-driven organisation that is not-for-profit and very much part of Corks Cultural world.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare timely management accounts and financial reports for Senior Management, the Finance, Audit & Risk (FAR) Committee, and the Board.
- Build operational and capital budgets for review by Management, Committee, and Board.
- Provide day-to-day internal financial analysis support to all departments.
- Oversee procurement, third-party contracts, payroll, pensions, and financial risk management.
- Lead external and internal audit processes, ensuring best practice and continuous improvement.
- Manage government grants, donations, sponsorship income, and compliance with funding conditions.
- Ensure compliance with the Revenue Commissioners, Companies Registration Office, and Charities Regulator.
- Provide internal advice on administrative areas such as insurance and legal.
- Act as the site point of contact for IT (internal network and systems).
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team.
What you'll need to succeed
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA).
- Minimum 7 years’ financial management experience, including leadership roles.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Solid understanding of internal IT network infrastructure and ERP systems proficiency.
- Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector is desirable.
