Group Financial Controller job – manufacturing industry – Qualified Senior Finance -

Your new role

As Group Financial Controller, you will play a key role within the senior management team, partnering closely with the CEO and COO. You will take ownership of the financial operations across the group, ensuring robust reporting, strong controls, and insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the preparation of group management accounts, including variance analysis, balance sheet reviews, and forecasting
  • Overseeing budgeting, financial planning, and cash flow management
  • Ensuring accuracy of costing and inventory valuation processes
  • Managing AP, AR, and payroll functions
  • Maintaining strong financial controls, policies, and compliance frameworks (including multi-jurisdiction VAT and duty)
  • Leading internal audit activity and reporting findings to senior leadership
  • Partnering with operational teams to support business performance
  • Supporting audit, tax, and external advisor relationships
  • Contributing to strategic initiatives, financial modelling, and potential acquisitions
This role offers a clear progression path to Finance Director, with the potential for broader leadership exposure over time.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) with a relevant degree
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in a similar finance leadership role
  • Strong technical expertise across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and costing
  • Experience in an SME or growth environment is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and support strategic decisions
  • Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/financial systems
  • A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
