Our 'interview preparation' survey examined the extent of preparation carried out by job seekers in advance of interviews. We received a response from 1,565 job seekers and 623 employers. Some of the highlights were as follows
27% of candidates would go out the night before an interview
Almost a quarter (23%) of employers haven’t seen any improvement in job seeker’s interview preparations
More than half of the job seekers (53%) say the spend less than 2 hours preparing for interviews
Only 59% of job seekers practice potential interview questions
42% of employers rejected candidates for lacking basic core skills such as writing or problem solving
77% of jobseekers felt confident interviewing in a different sector
